International Building Codes and ASCE 7:

ARM is your source for assistance in interpreting the multiple applicable building codes for your specific situation. Code compliance is one of the largest driving factors in comprehensive roof design. Currently there are very specific building code issues that code officials are looking to have satisfied to ensure that the newly installed system will meet or exceed the code requirements. Our code compliance page does just that. It not only breaks down all of the applicable codes for the given site but it states exactly what we are doing to ensure that the design meets or exceeds all of the requirements. The compliance of the applicable codes requires a vast working knowledge of many different International Code Counsel Standards. The commonly referenced codes are:

  • International Building Code
  • International Mechanical Code
  • International Existing Building Code
  • International Energy Code
  • ANSI/ASHREA/IES Standard 90.1
  • As well as individual state building codes, supplements and amendments

The findings from these codes is then filtered through the job specifications to ensure that the roofer knows up front during the time of bidding what is to be installed and how. This dramatically cuts down on overages and change orders. It also helps provide some of the most accurate "apples to apples" bidding a building owner can hope for.
